Embed a LEFT() function inside a COUNTIFS() formula?

I have a workbook with the following formula:

=COUNTIFS(BusUnit,B$1,Division,B$2,MachineType,"L",LeftCLIN,"0401")+
COUNTIFS(BusUnit,B$1,Division,B$2,MachineType,"L",LeftCLIN,"0460")+
COUNTIFS(BusUnit,B$1,Division,B$2,MachineType,"L",LeftCLIN,"0438")+
COUNTIFS(BusUnit,B$1,Division,B$2,MachineType,"",LeftCLIN,"0438")

This formula is used on multiple worksheets with a variable parameter in
B$2 that allows me to do calcuations for Divisions with ID numbers like 4.2.1, 4.2.1.1, 4.2.3 etc.

Now I need to create an aggregate sheet that totals the values for ALL the Divisions that are in the "4.2" part of the organization. I THOUGHT I would use the following formula, but Excel keeps giving me an error:

The error I get is:

Can anyone help me? Do I have a syntax problem that I am not seeing? I've tried to dumb down the formula and just use an embedded LEFT() within a COUNT() function and I can't do that, either. Is this simply not supported?

I have had this

The hard disk light comes on solid, the sound goes into a loop and the game hands -- after a few minutes I get BSOD.
It doesn't seem to happen when I am using windows apps, browser etc - just games.
Technical Info:
STOP: 0x0000007A (0x00000020, 0xC000009D, 0x8A1E9BDC, 0x00000000)
HP support claim it is an OS errror and i should repair the OS or re-install.
Can anyone help?

Power settings won't stay as saved - Display setting always reverts to 3 minutes after re-boot.
Maybe I don't yet understand how the new Windows 7 works, but I can't seem to set my power settings and have them stay there.
I've set them to turn off the display after 15 minutes and put the computer to sleep at 30 minutes. But when I re-boot the machine,
the display setting always reverts from 15 minutes to 3 minutes.
Is there any way to save these settings and have them stay as saved?

Running System Update Readiness Command

On running the System Update readiness Command, it will Detect & Replace Incorrect Registry data with the Correct one. Which may ultimately Solve Display Power settings are not saved in Windows.

Open CMD as Administrator by Simply Right Clicking on Start button > Command Prompt (Admin).
Now Type or Copy paste "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth" and hit Enter,
Now again Type or Copy paste this "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" and hit Enter.
Close the Command Prompt Window because we are done.

Try and see if you still get the same error Display Power settings are not saved in your Windows.
