Address Bar drop down box no longer has a shadow

I recently installed IE8 on a Vista machine and about that time the colored shadow that I'm used to seeing on address bar drop down box as I hover over each website in the address bar's history is no longer colored.  The only way I know which website I"m
hovering over is to look to the far right where I have the option to delete
Is there a setting that can be changed.  I have three other machines, one running XP and one running Windows 7 and the drop down box has a shadow on both of those.

·        Do you have any third party toolbar installed on the computer?
 
Step 1
 
Check if you have any third party toolbar installed on your computer and try to remove it and check if it works fine.
 
To remove toolbar,
A.   Click on Start.
B.   In the start search box type appwiz.cpl and press enter
C.   In the Programs and Feature window check if you have any toolbars installed, select it and remove the same.
 
 
Step 2
 
I would suggest you to reset Internet Explorer settings on your computer and check if it help you get the colored shadow when you hover the mouse over the websites in the address bar history.

If resetting Internet Explorer does not help, you may uninstall Internet Explorer on your computer and reinstall it and check if it helps.
