Cant enable my second processor core.
Lately Ive disable my second processor core on my laptop through MsConfig and have recently tried to reactivate it and the option for a second processor core isnt there anymore.
Is there a way to fix this?
Solutions to the Problem Cant enable my second processor core.
I had this exact problem as shown in the screenshot on my dad's computer.
He had software telling him only one core was running and we saw that the box was checked for "Number of processors: " like yours and the drop down list was capped at 1.
msconfig, boot tab, advanced options.
Step 1: Uncheck "Number of Processors", restart.
Step 2: Recheck "Number of Processors" and find that the drop down list now says 2, restart.
Step 3: Enjoy the full potential of your multicore processor.
My dad found on his diagnosis software that the problem was gone after these steps done in 5 minutes.
It seems that the list just needed a refresher from the bios by not asking it to do a specific number of processors or something.
This was an HP product that had Vista, then upgraded to 7 Home Premium 32 Bit.
- Download the Microsoft Windows ISO (installation device) from the following website:

- Extract the ISO file to a separate USB device or burn the program to a compact disc.
- Run the Microsoft Windows 10 upgrade directly from the software that you have thus created.
