Does anyone know why emails from a server were deleted after upgrading to Windows 7 (Window Live mail) from Windows Vista (Windows Mail)?
Or can I possible revert back to windows mail to recover the emails?

It is likely that WLM was not set to leave a copy on the server, so by default it removed the messages on the server after it downloaded them. That's my take on what happened anyway.
The old messages from Windows Mail should still be there. They were previously located under c:\users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail under the Local Folders (see
www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm). I think the upgrade leaves a Windows.old directory and you can try looking in there. What you want are eml files, which are the messages. You can also use
my free ceml program (www.oehelp.com/ceml/) to view them.
But you won't be able to get them back onto the server, if they were removed.

To check for Windows updates
