Debug -> Compile of an Access VB module does not seem to complete successful, yet does not report an error either.

I run the Debug -> Compile and the process does not seem to complete. The application is greyed out so I cannot recompile again, yet the compile never seems to finish. When I go back from the module code to the Access program. I
can work in the program and the program is working, but the Debug -> complile seems to have taken the module into some weird state. 
Any ideas?
