Computer Won't Boot
Every time I turn my computer on, I get this infamous message: "A disc read error has occured.
Press Ctrl, Alt, Delete to restart" Whenever I do that, I get the same message, again and again.
I have attempted to boot into safe mode, bu the exact same thing
happens.
How do I fix this? (I do not have the restore or any XP CDs.)

As with many errors in Windows, this could be one of many things causing the issue.
The first thing to do is to enter the system bios and make sure your hard drive is being detected.
If it isn't, then most likely either the hard drive has failed or you have
a bad board to drive cable i.e.
IDE or SATA cable.
If the drive is not detected it is more likely than not the hard drive that is bad but, cables do sometimes go bad due to movement within the tower case.
If the hard drive is detected in the system bios check the boot sequence to ensure the hard drive is set to boot second with the cd/dvd rom device set to boot first.
If the hard drive is detected and the boot sequence is correct, press the appropriate key to load system defaults.
The appropriate key to press varies by computer manufacturer but, most often is F5.
You can read the screen within the bios which should list
the appropriate key to press.
Make certain you save your settings when exiting the bios then reboot the computer.

Using Windows troubleshooter:
- Click on Search on Charm bar and type Troubleshooting. Click on the very first option.
- A new window will open. Click View all from the left pane.
- Scroll down to the bottom and click on Windows update.
- Troubleshooter window for Windows update will pop up. Click on NEXT. It may ask you for administrative permission.
- The troubleshooter will automatically detect problems and fix it.
- Now, close this window and try download/install the app which was previously showing error.

1. Download SmartPCFixer. Install it on your computer.
2. After the scan is finished, you can see the errors and problems need to be fixed. Click Fix All.
3. When the Fixing part is finished, your computer has been speeded up and the errors have been removed
